देवचुली ईसाइ समाजले मेयरबाट धोका पाएको आरोप लगाएको छ । आज हुने भनिएको कार्यक्रम मेयर काठमाडौं जानाले स्थगित भएको छ । जसबाट ईसाइ समाजलाई ठूलो क्षती पुगेको कुरा देवचुली ईसाइ समाजका अध्यक्ष सुकलाल तामाङ्गले माईक्रो टाइम्सलाई जानकारी दिनुभयो ।
मेयर, उपमेयर तथा सबै वार्ड अध्यक्षहरुलाई शुभकामना आदान प्रदान गर्ने तथा सम्मान गर्ने योजना रहेको उक्त कार्यक्रमका लागी २ हप्ता अगाडी नै पत्राचार गरीएको र नगरपालिकाले सहमति जनाएको भए पनि अन्तिम चरणमा नगरपालिकाको यस्तो ब्यवहारले ईसाइ समाज अपहेलित भएको र जनप्रतिनिधिहरुमा अझै पनि धार्मिक भेदभावको भावना कायमै रहेको गुनासो ईसाइ समाजले गरेको छ ।
बर्षातका बाबजुत पनि उक्त कार्यक्रममा विभिन्न पेशा गर्ने ब्यक्तिहरु आ—आफ्नो काम छाडेर उपस्थित भएका थिए । निर्धारित कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न हुन नपउँदा करिब ५००÷ ७०० जनाको आजको दिन ब्यर्थ भएको छ । उनीहरुका लागी आजको विहानको भोजनका लागी हिजो देखि तयार गरिएको तरकारी मासू लगायतका खाद्य पदार्थहरु उपभोग हुन नपाउँदा करिब ७५ हजार बराबरको क्षती समाजले ब्यहोर्नु परेको छ ।
इसाई समुदाय तथा नगरका जनप्रतिनिधी बीचको सम्बन्ध अझ सुमधुर बनाउनलाई ईसाइ संस्कृति झल्किने खालको सांस्किृतिक कार्यक्रमको तैयारी समेत गरेका भाईबहिनीहरुले कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत गर्न नपाउँदा आफू सँग दुखेसो पोखेको कुरा माईक्रो टाइम्सलाई जानकारी दिदैं गर्दा अध्यक्ष तामाङ्ग स्तब्ध हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
